Allegretto is a fifty eight second instrumental played on a classical guitar that in Renaissance times would have been played on a Lute or a Vilhuela. The word Allegretto is a musical term for a particular tempo, the speed of Allegretto is moderately fast as is this piece of royalty free music and usually thought to be a little slower than allegro and quicker than andante.
Allegretto also means a music passage or movement obviously with the stated tempo. Which means there are many pieces of music called Allegretto and what would usually distinguish them would be their Composer. This piece in particular is anonymous and probably written around 1600 AD but it is quite well known as a Renaissance Allegretto.
A thoughtful and perhaps serious piece of music with a descending chord movement and a striking dynamic section which resolves to the major, both sections are repeated twice though played slightly differently each time with skillful attention to varying the attack on the classical guitar's strings.
Allegretto is an authentic piece of Renaissance music and instantly conjures up images of Renaissance meetings, typical courtyard and market scenes.
Suitable for all kinds of media productions, including beds for film production, Renaissance dramas and Renaissance history programs, documentaries for television, radio, and as on hold music.
