Allemande No.3 is the third of a series of four pieces of royalty free music all sharing the same title. We do not know who wrote this collection of short pieces but it is thought that they were probably written all by the same composer.
Also it is thought that they were written just after 1600 which places them at the end of the Renaissance period and at the beginning of the Baroque period. Probably written for the Lute, this rendition is performed on a Classical Guitar. At forty seven seconds seconds long Allemande No.3 has a moderate tempo with an uplifting and joyous sound and features some dexterous ornamentation that gives the piece a light hearted and lively feel.
Suitable for all kinds of media productions, including film production, Baroque period and history dramas and Baroque history documentaries and also as on hold music.
The word Allemande (from the French word meaning "German") is a musical term for a type of dance, it usually was the first dance of an instrumental suite and is called Allemande as a reference to the dance which was thought popular in Germany at the time. In fact it was a very popular dance that had become established and carried on from the Renaissance period.
Just as the piece above, the Allemande was typically recited with a moderate tempo and could commence with any beat of the bar. In short, the dancers made a line of couples, extended their held hands forward, and paraded up and down the room, making three steps, then balancing on one foot.
