An unusual and at times Oriental sounding piece of Classical music. Containing four quite differing themes and an interesting collection of Classical instruments Fade To Grey at two minutes and thirty nine seconds offers the media producer something quite cinematic and slightly exotic.
The medium tempo, although the same throughout, is manipulated with odd timings and diverse changes of rhythm, starting with a sporadic and sparse Japanese sounding combination of harpsichord and strings this then develops into a more fluid and serious sounding arrangement where brass and a grand piano are incorporated.
The middle section, again very Oriental and enigmatic sounding, contains a strange melody created by plucked strings and oboe, there is suspense and a strange atmosphere here, this leads to fast moving string arrangement that conveys a thrilling type of motion where violins, violas and cellos combine with excellent coordination.
The last section mirrors the introduction and thus closes an exciting and unusual piece of royalty free music. Suitable for all kinds of media productions, including film production, dramas, documentaries, web development and podcasts.
Classical music is a general term that alludes to mainstream music stemming from traditions of Western religious and non religious music stretching from the ninth century until the present day. The expression or term "classical music" was not even used until the early nineteenth century and came about to glorify the Baroque period.
Today over prescribed, the term is felt as inappropriate for mainstream and avant-garde music written in the last one hundred years or so. Perhaps one defining aspect of Classical Music is its system of its system of staff notation that leaves very little opportunity for improvisation that is often heard in non-European art music as well as popular music such as Jazz and Blues.
