An upbeat and animated Ragtime piano piece. Using several themes this piece of royalty free music is well written and portrays nicely the pre World War One Urban America. Sounds like Scott Joplin. Medium quick tempo. To suit all kinds of media particularly Advertising, Drama, Film and video game production.
Ragtime is an American music genre which was very popular between 1896 and 1918
and it is considered the first truly American music genre. Starting as dance music in the brothels of St. Louis and New Orleans, Ragtime evolved from March music and incorporated polyrhythms that came African music. In 1899 The ragtime piece "Maple Leaf Rag", composed by Scott Joplin and published in 1899, heavily influenced other ragtime composers with its melodies, harmonic progressions and metric patterns. Several other major hits followed for Scott Joplin including The Entertainer which became famous again in the 1970s Ragtime revival.
Composed by William Peklinsky BMI. Other music by this composer.
