Here Comes The Bride needs little or no introduction for many people in the Western World as a it is commonly used during wedding ceremonies. Written by Richard Wagner,
its real title is the "Bridal Chorus" and it comes from the opera Lohengrin. Normally played at the start of a wedding ceremony though in Wagner's opera the chorus is sung after the ceremony by the bride's maids as they accompany Elsa, the bride, to the bridal chamber. That the marriage between Elsa and Lohengrin is an almost immediate failure does not seem to deter people from using it.
